Art Requirements

In order to give you the highest quality imprint, we have developed some artwork guidelines. We reserve the right to modify your art if it does not meet these quality standards.

  • All copy should be 9 points or higher, smaller type may fill in.
  • All lines should be no thinner than 1 point.
  • We recommend Arial font for the best printing results. Serif or Script fonts are not recommended on small items nor do they print well in caps.
  • Clever Advantage requires a resolution of artwork no less than 600 dpi (no 72 dpi jpeg or gif files).

Preferred Programs for Vector Artwork:

  • Corel Draw (saved as Corel X3 or earlier). All Corel files must be vector files. Convert all text to curves, outlines, or paths.
  • Adobe Illustrator (saved as an EPS, Adobe Illustrator version 9 or earlier. If using Macintosh computers, you must save file with the eps.extension).

EPS: Save all native Illustrator files as an EPS. The file must have all fonts converted to outlines. This should be a vector file. A vector file is resolution dependant, which means it can be scaled to any size and printed on any output device at any resolution without losing its detail or clarity.

Unacceptable files:

  • Photocopies, faxes, business cards, letterheads, and all non-vector art from the internet, etc. are not considered production ready art.
  • Files from word processing software such as Word, PowerPoint, Ventura Publishing, Microsoft Publisher and Word Perfect cannot be used.
  • Quark, XPress, Adobe PageMaker or files from any other page layout software cannot be used.
  • Adobe Acrobat PDF files are to be used for reading or viewing only, and should not be used as a vehicle for transfer.

Any art that requires “touch up” work, color separating, etc. will be billed at $65.00 per hour. Note: Our delivery schedule may change depending on the quality of the artwork submitted.
